ShowShare is an application which you may place anywhere on your hard disk. Also included with ShowShare is a file named “ShowShare Balloon Help”. This file is optional; if you don’t wish to have balloon help available you don’t have to install it. If you do wish to install it, drop it into your “Preferences” folder inside your “System Folder”.
ShowShare doesn’t require much memory; it can survive inside about 40K under most circumstances (even less if you're adventurous). You may need to increase this depending upon your setup; please report your discoveries.
When you run ShowShare it checks a few things:
• Are you running System 7.0 or later;
• Is the File Sharing Extension installed;
• Is AppleTalk “active”.
If any of these fails, you cannot run ShowShare. You'll be told why, and ShowShare will exit.
